Four Seas Group sponsors Hong Kong Tree Planting Day 2025

Organised by the Concerted Efforts Resource Centre’s “Green Fun” and co-organised by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, and sponsored by the Four Seas Group, the “Hong Kong Tree Planting Day 2025” was held on March 25 in Tai Tong, Yuen Long. Nearly 2,000 participants plant a total of 5,000 native tree saplings to improve Hong Kong’s ecological environment and raise environmental awareness.

Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu; Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Yin Zonghua; Deputy Commander of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison Navy Rear Admiral Tan Zhiwei; Deputy Director
of the Liaison Office of the Office for Safeguarding National Security of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR Xie Zhixiang, and BOCHK Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Risk Officer Xu Haifeng, officiated at the ceremony as the Guest of Honour. Secretary of Housing Winnie Ho Wing-Yin, Secretary for Education Christine Choi Yuk-lin, Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Alice Mak Mei-kuen, President of Concerted Efforts Resource Centre Stephen Tai Tak-fung, and Chairman of Green Fun Kenneth Chu Ting-kin and representatives of various organisations also joined in planting the saplings.

He hoped that through the Tree Planting Day, citizens would take practical actions to protect forests, promote the message of environmental protection and low carbon emissions, and jointly contribute to Hong Kong’s sustainable development. He also thanked various sectors of the community for their strong support of “Tree Planting Day”, and especially thanked the PLA Hong Kong Garrison for sending officers and soldiers to participate in tree planting activities with Hong Kong citizens every year since 2000, joining hands to build a green and prosperous Hong Kong.
